The Donor Relations team within University Advancement plays a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with GW donors. Our primary goal is to ensure that every donor feels appreciated and informed about the impact of their contributions. We manage all aspects of donor engagement, including gift acknowledgments, reporting, and donor recognition.
Position Specific Summary
We're looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Student Administrative Assistant to join our Donor Relations team. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fundraising and development field.
Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of the team, this role will assist with a variety of tasks, with a special emphasis on record maintenance, donor fund compliance, and research. Day-to-day responsibilities will include: Record Maintenance:
Maintaining and organizing donor information. This includes entering correspondence, and gift acknowledgment letters into database systems, as well as maintaining and updating spreadsheets with crucial donor data. Donor Fund Compliance and Research:
Assisting with projects that involve looking up past gift documentation and conducting research related to donor record keeping to demonstrate to donors how their gifts are making an impact and to meet compliance obligations. General Administrative Support:
Assisting with other office tasks such as creating donor recognition materials, preparing for donor events, surveying campus recognition efforts, and handling general inquiries.
Standard Position Description
The student will serve as an administrative assistant and perform tasks to support the operations of the the office or department. Task may include managing small to mid-level projects or events, responding to departmental inquiries, assist with communications and marketing, data entry, and other general office tasks. Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.

Required Qualifications
Some applicable educational, technical, or professional experience required, some training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office required, experience with Advance or Banner databases desirable. Other training provided. Must be able to work independently & provide updates. Excellent communication skills are desired- students will work with staff and donors.
