Qualifications:
- Experience coaching Football or experience as a Football player on a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must pass a TB Skin Test and basic physical
- Valid driver's license to transport students to and from events
Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of the Head Football Coach, the assistant coach will...
- Provides instructions to players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Organizes and directs individual and small group instruction during practices and competitions under.
- Assesses player's skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and reports to the head coach.
- Supervising athletes during practices and competition.
- Reports all major concerns directly to the head coach or in the absence of the head coach directly to the athletic director.
- Assists with the distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
- Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program.
- Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently and interprets them for staff.
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
- Follows established procedures set by the school board and KSHSAA
- Coordinate and help supervise the program and team under the head coach's supervision.
- Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Support and promote the training program by the head coach
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
- Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Support the philosophy and vision of U.S.D. 445.
- Complete necessary trainings according to KSHSAA regulations.
Travel Requirements
- Travel to other communities/cities for competitions.
Work Environment/Mental/Physical Demands
- Requires the ability to maintain emotional control while under stress and in stressful situations.
- Requires the ability to frequently stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires the ability to walk frequently.
- Requires the ability to frequently kneel/squat, bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, or reach.
- Be able to lift repeatedly 25 lbs. with ability to lift 50 lbs. at different times. Ability to carry, load and unload items as needed.
- Work environment consists of the activity location, including outside practice and event fields. Some work done inside in coaching offices and training rooms/locker rooms. Outside locations will vary in conditions including temperature and humidity
- Constant student/staff and parent interactions when emotions are high and stressful such as at practices and game days.
