Description
Work Schedule: Scheduled to meet the needs of YBGR may involve evenings, weekends, and holidays. Will share 24/7 emergency on-call duties with co-workers as needed which will involve evenings, weekends, and holidays. This may involve responding in person.
Salary Range:$1,841.80 - $2,072.96 bi-weekly .Salary reflects steps 1-5 of an 11-step pay schedule. The starting salary will be determined based on the applicant's education and relevant experience.
Position Summary: To provide leadership, training, administrative supervision and supervision to the Mental Health Workers and to coordinate and implement effective and therapeutic milieu services. Must possess basic philosophy of life and clinical care that is compatible with YBGR's Mission and Values.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coaching to Mental Health Workers, ensuring that the milieu program follows YBGR policies and is consistent with YBGR treatment philosophy.
- Ensure a safe environment for youth that allows for quality care to achieve their treatment goals.
- Responsible for various administrative areas involving but not limited to scheduling, supervision, budgetary and fiscal matters, and other areas as assigned.
- Collaborate as a member of the Lodge's Treatment Team as assigned. Ensure timely, outcomes-based treatment planning documentation is submitted for all MTPR's.
- Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization both individually and as a team member.

- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of milieu, including daily operations.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Plans and directs work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training employees. Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided. Schedule and conduct regular monthly individual supervision of direct reports.
- Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: B.A or B.S degree in a psychology, social work, education or a related human service field required.
- Three (3) years professional experience in residential, youth services, or psychiatric treatment setting will be considered in lieu of degree or combination of education and experience that is determined to be equivalent.
- One (1) year of professional experience in residential, youth services, or psychiatric treatment setting in addition to educational requirements.
- License to operate passenger vehicle
- Successfully complete and maintain certification in identified Violence Intervention and Prevention Program as well as CPR/First Aid
- Demonstrated professional skills in the following areas:
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Leadership and staff development
- Ability to work with youth with emotional and psychiatric issues
- Ability to work with culturally diverse individuals and build rapport with those individuals.
- Use of computer and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.
- Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
- Work environment: This position will generally work indoors in climate-controlled environment but occasionally will work in outdoor environment where they may not be protected from weather conditions.
- Will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time while performing administrative duties.
- Will frequently operate computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
- Consistently needs to move about inside building, outside to include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, and frequently change body position from and to standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone.
- Occasionally will be required to assist in the physical restraint of a youth (50-300lbs) who is a safety risk to themselves or others.
- The person in this position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals.
- Must be able to perceive, recognize, and observe client's behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client.
- Conditions can be high stress during de-escalation or restraint of physically out of control youth.
