HDR is looking for a Project Controls Specialist to join our Water Business Group team in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, or Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical interest in water infrastructure through evaluation, planning, design, and construction phases. They will support project managers and other delivery staff with project management activities including but not limited to, providing guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for project controls activities for programs or high visibility projects. They will have contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks. Occasional field visits for meetings will also be required. On a day-to-day basis, we'll also count on you to: Establish WBS, and develop and maintain complex project schedules for various phases of the project. Coordinate with necessary team members. Develop and monitor project metrics. Participate in project coordination meetings. Conduct project site visits if applicable. Conduct schedule baseline and schedule update reviews. Develop cost estimates. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering 5 years of experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, cost control, and project reports Certifications (one or more): PSP, PMP, PE, CM, EVP, PMI-SP, CST Strong decision-making skills High proficiency with Microsoft Excel Ability to interpret construction schedules Local candidates are preferred Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree The capability to actively progress knowledge in the areas of: Oral and written communication skills Interpersonal and leadership skills Coordination and prioritization of multiple long and short-term tasks Organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must HDR is our company.
