Job Description Associate Estate Planning Attorney (Sacramento) The Burton Law Firm Position Title: Associate Estate Planning Attorney Position Type: Full Time Salary Billable Requirement: Minimum 1700 billable hours per year. The Burton Law firm is seeking a dedicated, motivated attorney to join our Trusts and Estate Planning Department, a collaborative team serving high net worth clients, business owners, and international clients with complex planning needs. You will work primarily with the Managing Principal, a Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Administration; Probate Law and Tax Law both by the State Bar of California (and recognized by the State Bar of Nevada where he also practices), his practice focuses primarily on high net worth and business succession clients (local, intrastate and international); our Senior Trusts and Estate Planning attorney, also a Legal Specialist in Estate Planning & Probate Law, with experience in a full range of trust and estate matters; our Of Counsel Estate Planning Attorney with over 50 years of practice and prior Estate Planning Specialist; and our highly experienced paralegals and legal secretary who support the department. You will also integrate with other associates and departments within the Firm, including business, international, and tax. Your responsibilities will include assisting in all aspects of estate planning and trust administration, including business succession planning, managing trust and probate administrations, participating in client meetings, and, over time, developing and managing your own book of business for which the Firm will design. Requirements: We seek someone who is not only legally capable but also committed to excellent service and long-term client relationships. Education and Experience: · Active member of the California State Bar · Trust administration, probate, and/or tax planning · Experience with advanced estate planning techniques is strongly · Highly : An L.L.M in Taxation or Estate Planning, or Legal Specialization in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law is highly desired. Skills & Attributes: · Strong writing, research, and client communication skills · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail · Proactive and collaborative team player committed to professionalism and client care · A desire to grow within the department, including an interest in marketing and outreach through referral partners · Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (required); LEAP for case and document management (); and WealthCounsel for drafting Job Type: Full-time Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
