Primary responsibilities include aiding Chief Engineer(s) in providing leadership and technical oversight to Geotechnical staff and project managers within a region. Project oversight and technical report reviews within the region, as required. Develop new clients/projects by working with past clients or as the primary contact with new clients by seeking out new projects that may exist or are being formulated and participating in the development of proposals, as required. Serve as the primary client contact as needed or requested for those clients that will best be served by you being in that role as the lead contact person interacting with the client’s decision maker . Keep company personnel updated on regulatory changes and their implications on current and future projects. Maintain the internal communication plan to transfer this information to company personnel in the most effective manner. Act as a public relations ambassador being proactive in presenting and communicating the capabilities and strengths of the company to all. Participate in the review committee for those who seek Associate Principal or Principal designation (Geotechnical) at the request of the Subsidiary Chief Engineer or other Subsidiary Executives. Responsibilities may also include mentoring Associate Principals or other staff. Attend national conferences (including as an exhibitor) that focus on our industry to include IFCEE, PDCA, DFI, ASCE, ADSC, etc. Aid Chief Engineer(s) in technical expertise by assisting regional directors and project managers to establish project teams and serving as an active member of a project team when required. Provide advice, counsel, and peer review to ensure the technical appropriateness and accuracy of field work, including subcontractor work, and all documents and reports, as required. Aid Chief Engineer(s) in training and developing team members by evaluating the skills and capabilities of the subsidiary’s geotechnical engineering staff, as required. Aid Chief Engineer(s) by assisting in the strategic recruiting of geotechnical engineering staff, as required. Aid Chief Engineer(s) by assisting with the maintenance of technical proficiency of geotechnical engineering staff, as required.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required 20 years of related experience Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work. Designation as a senior reviewer at your current or previous firm required If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required. The expected pay range for this role and location is $180,000 +/year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
