A growing criminal defense firm in Hayward, CA is seeking a passionate and skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team. This role involves representing clients in misdemeanor and felony cases, advocating for their rights, and ensuring strategic and effective defense. Location Hayward, CA (In-person)
Duties
Represent clients in criminal cases, including misdemeanors and felonies
Handle all aspects of legal defense, including legal research, motion practice, plea negotiations, and trials
Advocate for clients in DMV hearings related to DUI cases
Develop and implement strong defense strategies
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding case status and legal options
Collaborate with the firm’s legal team to ensure effective case outcomes
Requirements
Active California State Bar license and in good standing
Minimum of one year of criminal defense experience (preferred but not required for highly motivated candidates)
Strong litigation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
Ability to manage a caseload effectively in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Passion for criminal defense and a commitment to protecting clients’ rights
Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Skills
Strong legal research and writing abilities
Excellent oral advocacy and trial preparation skills
Effective negotiation and case management capabilities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong client communication and interpersonal skills
