Senior Network Engineer
We are actively seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a strong foundation in enterprise networking and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have at least 16 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 14 years with a Master's) and demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex network systems across on-prem and cloud environments. This is a high-impact, leadership-oriented role supporting critical infrastructure initiatives for our government customer. Required Education, Experience & Skills Expert knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc. Strong understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation Proven experience in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, ACLs Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Knowledge of network virtualization and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) Significant hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on design, implementation, and management of large-scale, complex networks Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical network issues History of enhancing network performance and reliability in enterprise environments Deep knowledge in areas such as: Routing & Switching, Network Security (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection), Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Software-Defined Networking (SDN) Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide expert-level technical guidance Skilled in creating clear and concise technical documentation (design documents, implementation plans, technical notes) Routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP Switching protocols: STP, LACP, VTP, etc. CompTIA Network+ (or equivalent) Advanced certifications such as: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional ABBTECH is an EOE/Minorities/Women/Disabled Individuals/Veterans
