Overview
The Director, Training and Support is responsible for the overall governance, oversight and implementation of enterprise-wide programs such as safety, leadership, instructor training programs, design and development of content, and analytics. The role will be responsible for shaping the future of Operations work, by providing strategic direction that aligns training functional priorities with Entergy's strategic objectives and shared values. Job duties/responsibilities include: Responsible for direction, development, administration, and continuous improvement/refinement of training programs for all enterprise, operations, and nuclear (safety, instructor, and leadership) functions. Provide transformational leadership to the Training department to drive exceptional safety performance, project management performance and program management. Cultivate relationships with business leaders to support yearly budget planning, financial analysis, evaluation, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Operate center of excellence focused on overall leadership training, instructor training, safety training, and development of training content to improve reliable and safe conduct of work Oversight of learning strategies and quality content based on adult learning theory that meet the needs of individuals and company objectives. Manages training analytics, reporting, and administrative services. Provides leadership of the planning and performance of centralized training activities. Supports the Entergy training strategy, governance, programs, and oversight for the centralized training programs. Provides oversight and maintains the training budget to ensure achievement of budget goals while ensuring safe, reliable, cost-efficient operation. Interfaces with Entergy leaders to determine how training resources can best be applied to improve performance. Drives standardization with companywide processes and procedures related to training activities to achieve consistently high levels of performance and regulatory compliance. Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback from the business units. Project management of capital spend and learning service providers for centralized training programs. Minimum requirements include: BS degree in education, adult learning, or related field; preferred Master's in Curriculum and Development, Leadership Development, Psychology, or related field. OR Equivalent Work Experience in Training or Education setting. 12+ years' experience as a training leader overseeing training programs using the systematic approach to training. OR 12+years in a Utility, Nuclear, PGEN or Operations function compliance, 5+ years of leadership at a manager level or higher. Knowledge of the systematic approach to training and adult learning Ability to develop partnerships with the line organizations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with overseeing training contract partners and projects
