The Assistant Director for Student Conduct and Community Standards is a full-time administrative staff position that reports to the Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards. This position will work closely with students, staff, faculty, and administration in addressing student behavior concerns that occur on and off campus. The Assistant Director also serves as the Deputy Director and designee for the Associate Provost of Student Affairs in the absence of the Director. The Assistant Director serves as a university investigator for issues of Title IX, discrimination and harassment in addition to student behavioral concerns. The position is responsible for enhancing the department educational practices and developing training on the Code and Disciplinary Procedures. This position works collaboratively with students, faculty, and administration to ensure compliance and address issues of equity and access for a population of 10,000 students.

Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility to adjudicate both level 1 and level 2 Student Conduct violations.
- Manages the progress of Housing and Residential Education hearing officers, provides ongoing training and development for staff in student support through the conduct process, case management, educational sanctioning and navigating PAVE system.
- Serves as a university investigator for issues of title ix, harassment and discrimination. Maintain accurate and thorough investigatory files and reports.
- Serve as a point of contact for current and potential students, parents, and other university administrators regarding the Code of Conduct, the SCCS office, and related services.
- Assist the Director in developing and facilitating training for the Disciplinary Hearing Board each semester.
- Assist with administrative support of the office such as coordinating and preparing for disciplinary hearings, sending decision letters, and scheduling hearings.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications team to create and enhance publications, brochures, manuals, and other resource materials regarding the office.
- With guidance from the Director, lead assessment efforts for the office as well as maintain detailed statistical data for monthly and yearly reports and Clery data.
- Oversee programming and prevention initiatives surrounding community standards, the Code of Conduct, and other student behavioral trends. Lead the development and implementation of SCCS programs and workshops in collaboration with Housing and Residential Education.
- Participate in regular training for Student Conduct, Title IX, and other professional development opportunities.
- Serve on committees and working groups to support departmental and Student Success initiatives working closely with other departments within Student Success, as well as Campus Safety, University General Counsel, and departments within the various schools at the institution.
- Assist the Director with general office operations, serve as the designee, and represent the Student Conduct and Community Standards office.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Minimum two years of experience in student conduct and adjudication.
- Knowledge of higher education legal issues including FERPA, ADA, Title IX, and Clery.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence, and a continuing commitment to advance equity, inclusion, and social justice practices in support of a diverse community.Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle complex, sensitive, and confidential issues.
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of PAVE or other case management software.
- Familiarity with Banner, Tableau, and Starfish.
- Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.
$74,300 - $75,000 annually
