Job Summary:
This is a job posting for multiple levels of BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN. After the interview with hiring manager, they will determine the level in which your background is best fit for.
Biomedical Engineering Technician I
include assisting or performing installation, calibration, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of basic patient care equipment such as patient monitoring, surgical devices, infusion devices, other basic diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment. Other duties as assigned.
Biomedical Engineering Technician II
include installation, calibration, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of basic and complex patient care equipment such as ventilators, balloon pumps, anesthesia units, sterilization, endoscopy systems, other diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment. Other duties as assigned.
Biomedical Engineering Technician III
include installation, calibration, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of basic and complex patient care equipment such as ventilators, balloon pumps, anesthesia units, sterilization, endoscopy systems, other diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment. Also possess advanced knowledge and experience in a particular system or technology such as advanced invasive procedure systems, specialized life support equipment, surgical lasers, clinical laboratory, robotics, device integration, or IT infrastructure. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I • 3 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment is preferred
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN II • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of basic and complex medical equipment is required. • 7 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment is preferred.
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN III • A minimum of 7 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of basic and complex medical equipment is required. • 10 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I • Associate degree in Biomedical or Electrical Technology or equivalent military training is required. In lieu of the associate degree, a total of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN II • Associate degree in Biomedical or Electrical Technology or equivalent military training is required. In lieu of the associate degree, a total of 6 years of relevant work experience is required.
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN III • Associate degree in Biomedical or Electrical Technology or equivalent military training is required. In lieu of the associate degree, a total of 8 years of relevant work experience is required. • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Clinical, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I, II and III • Familiarity with medical technology is required. • Specialized training in medical technology service and support is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I, II and III • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems. • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking ability. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect basic patient care equipment such as patient monitoring, surgical devices, infusion devices, basic diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment, preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I • Valid WI driver's license is required.
BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN II and IIII • Valid WI driver's license is required. • CBET Certification is preferred.
