Group Engineering Manager
to lead our
Controls & Automation engineering team . This role focuses on
BMS (Building Management Systems), EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems) , and
PLC/HMI/SCADA programming . The manager will oversee delivering high-performance automation solutions for data centers and other mission-critical facilities, ensuring engineering excellence, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, provide strategic project direction, and collaborate across functions to expand automation solutions on complex projects. Lead and develop a high-performing controls engineering team, fostering a culture of rigor, accountability, and continuous improvement. Engineering Strategy & Standards:
Define and enforce best practices, design standards, and programming methodologies to ensure quality and scalability across global projects. Project Oversight:
Oversee automation project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget. Provide technical input on system design and integration. Design & Programming Governance:
Review and approve key project deliverables, support risk mitigation, and conduct technical audits. Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a senior technical liaison, translating client needs into engineering strategies and ensuring project success. Team Development:
Mentor engineers and leads, support career growth, and implement ongoing training. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with project management, business development, procurement, and field teams to ensure engineering alignment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering (Master's preferred) Strong collaboration and teamwork skills 10+ years of controls and automation engineering experience, including: Extensive BMS/EPMS design and integration experience PLC/HMI/SCADA programming across platforms like Rockwell, Siemens, Tridium, Ignition, Schneider 5+ years in technical leadership or engineering management Experience with data center, mission-critical, or industrial automation projects Deep understanding of system integration, commissioning, and controls network infrastructure Familiarity with communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP) Proven team management and mentoring skills Additional Qualifications Experience with automation frameworks or reusable code libraries Knowledge of MEP and electrical one-line diagrams Understanding of cybersecurity in ICS environments Certifications such as PMP, PE, Niagara 4, or Ignition Experience in Design-Build or EPC projects Willingness to travel up to 50% Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift 50 lbs., and navigate stairs and ladders as needed.
