Job Title: Technical Integration Architect
Location-Type: Hybrid 3 days onsite
Start Date Is: ASAP
Duration: Contract 6 months
Compensation Range: $62.00-$83.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of integration patterns, practices, and standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise integration architectures that connect various systems across campus (Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, CRM, ERP, etc.)
- Evaluate and recommend integration tools, platforms, and approaches that align with institutional goals and technical strategy
- Create detailed technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps for integration projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams working on integration projects
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data governance requirements specific to higher education
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in system integration and Azure Cloud services
- Develop and maintain documentation for integration architecture, processes, and standards
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate integration approaches before full implementation
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration solutions to ensure reliability and performance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of IT architecture experience, including 5+ years in integration architecture
- Expertise in Azure Cloud (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, Service Bus)
- Proficiency with REST APIs, SOAP web services, and event-driven architectures
- Experience with data integration patterns, ETL processes, and middleware technologies
- Hands-on experience with iPaaS solutions
- Knowledge of identity management/authentication (Azure AD, SAML, OAuth)
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance (FERPA, GDPR)
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Azure certifications (Solutions Architect Expert, Integration/Developer Associate)
- Experience with Ellucian Ethos, Informatica Cloud, Kafka, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Snowflake
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and microservices architecture
- Prior work within large, complex higher education institutions
- Understanding of IMS Global, PESC, or similar higher ed data standards
- Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools
- Knowledge of student success initiatives and related data integration needs
