POSITION SUMMARY
The position is committed to delivering high-quality care in a patient-centered clinical environment.
Key responsibilities include recording vital signs, administering medications as directed by the physician, triaging phone calls, and assisting the clinic RN with pharmacy communications. The role also involves processing prior authorizations for medications, coordinating therapeutic treatment scheduling, and supporting overall clinic operations. Flexibility is essential, as additional duties may be assigned to ensure seamless support for providers and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accurately obtain and document patients' vital signs, weight, and height in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at each visit. Monitor and process incoming e-prescriptions and faxed refill requests within the EMR system. Retrieve, route, and respond to daily messages from the Zoom Phone system in a timely and professional manner. Complete prior authorizations for medications and medical services, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage Patient Portal communications, responding promptly to patient inquiries and messages. Provide support to the clinic receptionist and patient navigator as needed to maintain efficient front-office operations. Adhere to Universal Precaution Procedures and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations at all times. Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions to stay current with clinic protocols and procedures. Demonstrate consistent reliability in attendance and punctuality. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic providers and contribute to overall clinic success.
Education:
High School Graduate and CMA certified
Experience:
Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare office setting.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills:
Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Office and Outlook is preferred.
Certificates & Licenses : Certification in Medical Assisting is required
Other Requirements:
Understand and follow all Universal Precaution Operating Procedures. Understand and follow all HIPAA guidelines and procedures. Confidentiality of all written and electronic data, inclusive of: Protected Health Information, billing information and operations data. Assist with various administrative tasks to support department operations as directed; may also be assigned special projects. Additional duties as required by the Clinic Manager. Maintain proficient knowledge of organizational emergency procedures.

9 hours M-Th & 4 hours on F (Please note: This schedule is subject to change based on clinic operational needs)
Monday 7:45am-5:15pm 30 min lunch
Tuesday 7:45am-5:15pm 30 min lunch
Wednesday 7:45am-5:15pm 30 min lunch
Thursday 7:45am-5:15pm 30 min lunch
Friday 7:45am-11:45am without lunch
