The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in bankruptcy law, with a focus on creditors’ rights. This role offers an opportunity for growth in a supportive environment, working with clients across sectors such as construction, agriculture, transportation, and industry to handle complex bankruptcy and creditors' rights issues. Duties:
Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy Representation:
Represent clients in obtaining writs of sequestration (replevin) for secured interests in various sectors. Assist clients with collecting accounts, locating assets, setting aside fraudulent transfers, and enforcing guarantees. Represent creditors in bankruptcy proceedings to recover collateral and protect their secured interests.
Bankruptcy Claims Management:
Handle relief from the automatic stay, prosecute claims, and defend objections. Manage disputes regarding dischargeability, preference claims, and adversary proceedings.
Client Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely advice and service. Guide strategic decisions in bankruptcy cases.
Requirements:
Minimum 6 years in bankruptcy law, focusing on creditors' rights and litigation. Experience handling complex claims and creditor representation. Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases. Strong communication skills and client relationship abilities. Team-oriented mindset. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications:
Active membership in the State Bar of Texas. Skills:
Deep knowledge of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law. Experience with enforcement actions like writs of sequestration. Strong litigation skills for bankruptcy claims. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Effective case and client expectation management. Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
