Join to apply for the CAD Team Lead role at Aquawolf LLC 1 year ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the CAD Team Lead role at Aquawolf LLC This is a professional position responsible for supervising, training, coordinating, and providing oversight of Aquawolf’s CAD practices, standards, templates and systems as well as administration of Aquawolf’s CAD licenses and access. This position is also responsible for implementing best practices and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Assignments will include providing technical guidance to design/drafting teams, supporting established organization objectives by contributing to the development of goals and strategies, and directly supervising a team of designers and drafters. This role requires a broad, extensive, and deep understanding of design and CAD practices across a range of service lines and software platforms. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Monitor IT equipment for team Support utilization and workload forecasting, maintaining sufficient backlog Inform hiring and personnel decisions within team Support onboarding activities for new hires Support development of goals and strategies for team and performance tracking as well as individual career progression, development, and training Ensure team adherence to company mission, vision, and values and develop team cohesion and culture Support compensation planning for direct reports Maintain labor classification updates Responsible for personnel management and policy adherence, including core hours, HR documents, and reviews Oversee technical performance of team while ensuring QA/QC execution and tracking Set best practice design/drafting methods and adherence tracking, specific to clients served Establish and maintain training program and continued development Maintain knowledge of developments in industry codes and regulations Ensure continuous improvement in process and cost-efficiency Maintain existing relationships and seek new opportunities in existing contracts Build new relationships within existing clients Support organizational growth objectives Support development and execution of project scopes, budgets, and schedules Support proposal writing and/or coordination Ensure timesheet approvals Support invoicing review and approval, as well as time and material backlog statusing, as required or applicable Ensure project execution within terms and conditions of contract, including required response times, social media postings, PO limits, and labor classifications Create, develop, and/or supervise drawing packages for bidding, construction, as-built, and submittal purposes Ensure team has tools to be successful: software, hardware, field, etc. Shares responsibility for employee satisfaction and engagement Finds and implements ways to improve cost-efficiency Extensive cross-department coordination, including: T&D overhead line design T&D Underground design Natural gas design Clean transportation GIS Job Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills Action-mindset; having the ability to move from thinking about something to doing it Strong team player: Accomplish tasks by working with others and recognizing how his/her decisions may impact the team and have a willingness to seek input from others Time Management: Have the ability to successfully plan and accomplish tasks within an established timeline Computer proficiency in operating a personal computer and standard business office applications including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and other related applications Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions at both strategic and functional levels Work independently with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starter Required Job Qualifications Education & Training: High School Education Required Knowledge, Skills, Ability: 5-10 years of industry-related CAD design experience Extensive and thorough knowledge of engineering design for service line, including AutoCAD Civil3D and Bentley Microstation. Familiarity with land survey techniques and coordinate reference systems is highly desired.
