Exempt The Business Development Architectural Executive is a sales position suited for someone who enjoys selling high-end products and can work independently to develop business. This role involves visiting, promoting, and managing complex sales activities with the trade industry outside our showrooms. Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with Trade Partners (architects, designers, developers, builders, contractors, dealers, fabricators) to ensure sales growth; follow up regularly with clients. Schedule and conduct approximately 15 face-to-face sales calls weekly, establishing routes based on territories and clients. Generate leads through research, networking, cold calling, and social media. Educate customers about products through presentations, lunch-and-learns, and continuing education courses. Maintain knowledge of product offerings, promotional materials, pricing, and operating systems. Ensure marketing products are properly displayed, including slabs, towers, and tabletops. Participate in trade shows, events, and promotional activities. Oversee showroom customer service and support team activities such as sending samples, quotes, and processing orders. Process orders and paperwork following established procedures. Address customer concerns promptly and escalate to management when necessary. Follow sales procedures and meet sales goals set by the Branch Manager. Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop strategies for market expansion. Maintain records of activities and opportunities in the CRM system; prepare activity reports. Assist with showroom sales when needed and participate in team meetings. Perform additional duties and support projects as assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree in business, architecture, interior design, or related field preferred. 3-5 years of sales experience, especially with trade industry clients; knowledge of tile and stone specifications is preferred. Understanding of commercial specifications, LEED, CTS, DCOF, and architectural plans is a plus. Valid driver’s license with ability to travel; overnight travel may be required. Availability for weekend work as needed. Goal-oriented with strong prospecting skills. Excellent client service, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Physical ability to work outdoors and indoors, including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and driving. This description is not exhaustive and may be revised by management.
