The Business Administrator I serves as a key operational and administrative leader supporting the departments of Nursing Quality, Safety, and Regulatory Readiness. This professional-level role is responsible for executing and managing a range of business functions, including budget oversight, policy development, regulatory coordination, supply chain integration, and quality data analysis. Utilizing specialized knowledge and independent judgment, the incumbent designs, implements, and maintains processes, programs, and systems that align with departmental strategies and drive organizational effectiveness. The role ensures compliance, fosters collaboration across stakeholders, and contributes to: Business Operations Oversight
Leads the execution of key business and operational functions in support of the departments of Nursing Quality and Regulatory Readiness. Applies specialized knowledge to implement and maintain administrative processes, policies, and systems that advance departmental and organizational goals. Collaborates with senior leadership to align initiatives with strategic objectives. Supply Chain & Technology Integration
Serves as a key liaison between clinical teams and supply chain services, providing data-informed recommendations to improve cost-effectiveness and clinical outcomes. Evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions to support data analysis, reporting, and supply optimization. Influences stakeholder adoption of preferred tools and strategies through evidence-based proposals. Regulatory Survey Coordination
Coordinates administrative logistics in preparation for Department of Health (DOH) surveys. Manages document collection, interview scheduling, and electronic submission of required materials. Ensures accuracy, accessibility, and compliance throughout the process. Quality Data Analysis & Improvement
Analyzes department quality dashboard data and identifies opportunities for performance improvement. Recommends and implements process enhancements that support quality outcomes and ensure data accuracy and usability. Compliance Monitoring & Reporting
Monitors and evaluates departmental compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops reports for nursing leadership and recommends corrective actions in response to identified variances. Supports regulatory readiness by maintaining clear and accurate documentation. Policy Development & Documentation
Creates and maintains departmental policies and procedures based on internal data analysis, performance metrics, and stakeholder input. Partners with departments to identify improvement areas and translates findings into clear, actionable policies. Oversees the archiving of all key documents for accessibility and audit readiness. Budget Management
Oversees departmental budget development and monitoring. Prepares forecasts, tracks expenditures, and performs variance analysis. Advises leadership on resource allocation and provides data-driven financial insights to inform decision-making. Committee Management & Onboarding
Coordinates the onboarding and engagement of committee members appointed by leadership. Prepares orientation materials, sets expectations, and ensures alignment with the department's operational goals. Provides administrative support to committee functions and ensures effective participation. Timekeeping & Workforce Administration
Manages timekeeping and payroll functions for departmental staff. Serves as the MyURHR timecard and vacation request approver, ensuring compliance with University policies and payroll deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in a business operation or administrative role required - Or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Adept at learning new technologies to perform data entry, manage calendars, and creating reports required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Strong time-management and organizational skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
