Location:7340 Executive WayFrederick, MD 21704Hrs.: M-F, 6:45am - 3:15pmPh: 301-695-8814Position:Metlfab is hiring for an experienced programmer with prior experience as a machinist using 3 and 5 axis machining centers to help support our machine shop and sheet metal shop. You will be programming mainly aluminum and plastic parts that are complex with tight tolerances. This is a challenging but rewarding position. Responsibilities: Use customers solid models to create CNC programs for 3 and 5 axis machining centers. Create your own solid models when the customer is unable to supply them. Create programs for fixturing jaws and devices. Compare provided solid models to provided engineering drawings to ensure that they are in agreement with each other. Detect discrepancies between standard machining practices versus what the customer is trying to achieve and offer solutions. Create CNC programs for a lathe. Work cohesively with other programmers and machinists to provide the desired outcome.Qualifications: Must have experience programming using MasterCam software Must have a minimum of 3 years as an experienced machinist capable of setting up, fixturing, and running 3 and 5 axis machining centers. Must be able to read and follow complex engineering drawings. Must have an understanding of MIL specs and GD&T. Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience programming parts for 3 and 5 axis machining centers. Must be able to create solid models when they are not provided. The ability and willingness to operate machines when necessary would be a benefit. Must be able to fluently speak English.
