Overview
Position Overview The clinical pharmacist is responsible for demonstrating clinical and operational knowledge related to the assessment, treatment, and care of patients at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. This role includes implementing and maintaining clinical rounding services, completing medication orders, and providing targeted medication dosing consultations for designated teams. The pharmacist will also assist with orienting and training new employees and serve as a preceptor for residents and students, supporting their development, evaluation, and advancement.
Qualifications
Minimum of one year of post-graduate training (e.g., ASHP-Accredited PGY1 Residency) or equivalent clinical experience.
PGY2 in an acute care setting or equivalent practice experience, or PGY1 Residency plus 3 years of clinical experience preferred.
Board Certification such as BCPS, BCCP, or BCCCP preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Interpersonal skills that promote teamwork.
Knowledge of drugs, their actions, interactions, and pharmacy laws (state and federal).
Ability to read physician orders and medication labels, and manual dexterity for computer use, prescription compounding, and IV admixtures.
