Assess student abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes and provide instruction to grow student abilities Maintain appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes Plan appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities including determination of appropriate level of materials Implement an instructional program which provides appropriate learning experiences, considering different learning styles and a range of learning curves Assist and participate in the management of student behavior in instructional settings, including school grounds, centers, and work sites, to ensure environment is conducive to the learning process; intervene to control and modify disruptive behavior, reporting to appropriate administrator Utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement Ensure classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, beneficial, safe and conducive to learning while ensuring materials are accessible to students and in good condition Program Facilitation
Maintain safety in classrooms Maintain accurate annual asset inventory reports Maintain timely and accurate budget and accountability reports Communication and Collaboration
Communicate regularly with students on instructional expectations and keep them informed of their progress Ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress Request assistance and work with resource personnel to ensure student growth Collaborate with other professionals, including counselors and librarians, to carry out school-wide instructional or related activities Support and/or participate in school-wide student activities and social events and approved fundraising activities Assign work and supervise instructional assistants, parent, and student volunteers, as needed Professional Growth
Actively participate in professional learning, staff development, in-service activities and staff meetings Stay abreast of current industry standards Maintain current certifications and licenses If the position is tied to coaching a UIL sport, the following essential duties and responsibilities are applicable to coaching:
Perform coaching duties as assigned as well as other duties required for the smooth, efficient operation of a successful athletic program Possess knowledge and adheres to UIL rules and regulations Assist the Athletic Department with budget, schedules, care/use of facilities Communicate with the Athletic Department on a regular basis Supervisory Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree in appropriate field including course work in the subject or program to which assigned upon hire Master's degree preferred Valid Appropriate CTE Teaching Certification, issued by Texas Education Agency Valid Law or Public Safety Industry License or Certification appropriate for the teaching assignment Required Compliance Training Valid Driver's license with CDL Certification preferred if coaching a UIL sport Minimum of 2 years of wage earning work experience within the last 10 years in Qualifying Fields: Law Enforcement and Public Safety Coaching experience preferred if coaching a UIL sport Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate technology equipment and software programs Proven ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives including the needs and abilities of students Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress. Additional Information
This position requires a significant amount of time standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving. Supplies and equipment specific to CTE instruction may weigh as much as 50 pounds. Primary Location
