Camp Location: Stanford University
Camp Dates: July 7 to Aug 10
Directors may be hired for one or more weeks. An ideal candidate can work the full month.
Education Unlimited is seeking qualified and energetic program administrators to join us as Site Directors .
The primary responsibility of the Site Director is to plan and manage the daily operations of the camp, ensuring the implementation of Education Unlimiteds policies, curriculum, schedule, and mission. They will also oversee program staff and instructors. Planning begins in early spring, and during camp dates, Directors will reside on-campus (lodging, meals, and parking provided).
This position is both rewarding and challenging, and a positive, organized, and effective Director helps create memorable and enriching experiences for our students.
Qualifications:
- Good judgment, strong people skills, and follow-through.
- Ability to accept guidance from Education Unlimited headquarters to ensure consistent policy enforcement.
- Experience working with students aged 8-18 in teaching or administrative roles (5+ years).
- At least 2 years' experience in program administration.
- Calm, professional demeanor.
- Willingness and ability to work long hours.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Passion for education.
- Ability to lead and manage staff in a high-energy environment.
Pre-camp responsibilities:
- Attend director training meetings.
- Communicate regularly with EU headquarters.
- Meet with campus conference staff prior to camp.
- Prepare and finalize camp schedules and activities.
During camp:
- Address student needs and ensure safety.
- Manage campus relations (facilities, dining, classrooms).
- Communicate with parents.
- Support teachers with classroom materials and activities.
- Maintain the camp budget.
- Lead recreational activities as needed.
- Manage camp staff, including instructors and possibly assistant directors or counselors.
