Flexibility to match your scheduling needs.The Echocardiograph Technologist performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to the physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo-guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo-guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast-enhanced exams, exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.This position requires shared coverage for standby and call-back emergency studies in the evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities and or rotation through staffed weekend shifts.Must Haves:One year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR a Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities availableUpon hire: Oregon SonographerUpon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International OrUpon hire: National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International OrUpon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical SonographyUpon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart AssociationPreferred:Associate's degree: Applied Science, from a CAAHPE-accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical SonographyPediatric echocardiography experienceFamiliarity with the imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices)Experience with echo-guided trans-catheter procedures Our hospital's caregivers are not simply valued, they are invaluable.
