TRIO AMBASSADOR (TEMP) HAROLD WASHINGTON COLLEGE CITY COLLEGES OF CHICAGO Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and be eligible to work in the United States. Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours of pre-credit or credit classes. Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate. Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first-semester new students). Applicants must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions. Applicants must not be current full-time or part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago. All positions are “employment at-will”. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, act as the CCC student representative to prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and the public. Provide quality customer service to prospective students through campus tours or other visits. Help guide prospective students in choosing to attend City Colleges of Chicago. Answer questions students may have about student life at City Colleges of Chicago. Provide information about re-admission, withdrawal, and other academic transactions. Provide information to prospective students and sometimes other students about extracurricular activities. Participate in on-campus college recruiting activities. Copy materials used for recruiting activities, admissions, registration, and orientation. Set a positive/supportive introduction to the college for new and returning students. Attend training sessions as required. Adhere to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Service Excellence Standards. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at the City Colleges of Chicago. Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago. Excellent oral communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Commit to satisfying internal and external customers. Promote a positive role model and favorable public image as a City Colleges of Chicago representative. Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and demonstrably self-motivated. Prior experience in public relations is helpful but not required.
