Veterans in Healthcare . This position is remote and exempt, with a focus on maintaining the Chargemaster (CDM) and ensuring compliance with billing regulations. Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the Keck Medical Center of USC Charge Description Master (CDM), including annual updates required by Medicare and other payers. Review and process requests for code additions, corrections, and updates to ensure compliance and accuracy. Lead meetings with stakeholders to address compliance issues and improve charge capture processes. Coordinate with various departments on technology projects impacting charge entry and CDM management. Supervise revenue auditors and provide training on CDM maintenance and coding updates. Analyze data, generate reports, and implement charge capture improvement initiatives. Develop policies and procedures related to charge master management and compliance. Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or Nursing. Certified Coder (CPC/CCS) from an accredited program. At least 5 years of healthcare experience, including coding, billing, or charge audit roles. Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements and CMS reimbursement methodologies. Proficiency in MS Office and Windows. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (e.g., BSN). Experience with hospital Chargemaster software (Craneware, Med Assets). Knowledge of hospital charging practices and healthcare operations. Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding principles. Licenses/Certifications:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or relevant clinical license. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire. The annual salary range is $95,680 - $158,230. USC considers various factors when extending offers. Additional Details:
