Overview
Provide a short description of the Position: The Systems Architect will use a variety of hardware to build and maintain cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, network equipment, and virtualization software. They will also be leading other architects and communicating with multiple stakeholders. They will report to Jimel Williams at our Albany location.
Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: The System Architect Will Lead the design, development, and implementation of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions. Define cloud strategy and architecture to align with IES business goals and objectives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Architect and design scalable, secure, and high-performance GPC environments. Create detailed architecture diagrams, design documents, and implementation plans for GPC projects. Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities. Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of GPC resources, including computing, storage, networking, and databases. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts using tools like Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration. Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost and performance. Conduct regular performance assessments and implement improvements to ensure efficient resource utilization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and operations, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud solutions. Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex cloud infrastructure issues. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures. Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members and stakeholders on GPC best practices and new technologies.
