The successful applicant must excel in cloud design, provisioning, AWS management, data security, container orchestration, and monitoring, while also collaborating effectively and driving operational excellence across teams. This position may involve responsibilities within the Chello business unit and across the whole organization (OFG Bancorp). Position is part of the Chello Technology, Operations and Development Team, works hybrid schedule, and onsite work is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design: Lead in design decisions and architecting cloud solutions leveraging AWS tools and best practices to meet business and technical requirements. Resource Provisioning: Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS Management Console. Automation: Write and update automation scripts and pipelines for cloud deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance and availability of cloud resources and applications. Security: Implement and maintain security controls and best practices to protect cloud infrastructure and data. Cost Management: Assist in managing and optimizing cloud costs, including budgeting and cost allocation. Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure the stability and reliability of cloud environments using tools such as AWS CloudWatch and ELK stack. Data Management: Assist in designing and implementing data storage, processing, and analysis solutions using AWS services such as S3, RDS, Redshift, and Glue. Container Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS and EKS. Event-Driven Serverless Architecture: Assist in designing and implementing event-driven serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services. Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices to continuously improve cloud solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Three (3) years of combined experience in cloud engineering and architecture. Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Proven experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, VPC, and others. Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Strong understanding of cloud security best practices. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch and ELK stack. Great communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Love for learning and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional. AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Knowledge of scalable data architecture to ensure efficient and scalable data processing and storage solutions.
Work Authorization & Elegibility
Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization. Employee is responsible for maintaining eligible work authorization throughout his tenure with the organization.
