Role Overview:
Client is seeking a Sr. Cloud Security Architect to act as a key member of the Infosec team, leading the design and implementation of secure cloud solutions. This role focuses on building secure architectures, partnering with product teams, mentoring junior staff, and staying ahead of cloud security threats.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Serve as the Cloud Security SME, identifying and mitigating risks. Design secure network and serverless cloud architectures. Provide IAM policy guidance and implement least privileged access. Review AI/ML workflows and cloud architectures for security gaps. Collaborate with cloud providers and vendors to improve security tools. Mentor junior team members and document security designs and processes. Stay current with the latest cloud security trends and tools. Must-Haves:
Experience:
7-10+ years in Cloud Security Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering. Cloud:
Deep experience with Azure cloud security and administration. Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, Node.js, or Golang. Strong knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, routing. Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible. Experience with serverless security, Docker, Kubernetes, VPC engineering. Familiar with Azure Defender for Cloud, AWS GuardDuty, GCP Security Center, WAF, GitHub Security.
Security Architecture: 2+ years of experience designing and maintaining multi-user systems. Ability to evaluate technical diagrams and identify security gaps. Experience managing exception requests and mitigating misconfigurations.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. Certifications:
Azure Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect. Soft Skills:
Strong communication (written and verbal) and documentation skills. Detail-oriented and able to switch contexts quickly. Collaborative, with a mindset for continuous learning. Ability to integrate security seamlessly into engineering processes. Nice-to-Haves:
AWS or GCP cloud certifications (Solutions Architect, Security Specialty, etc.). CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certifications. Experience with Wiz, Splunk, Brinqa, Slack, and Jira integrations.
