Overview
The Burner Operator will be responsible for loading, setting up, running, making adjustments, and ensuring that metal plates are being cut to specification. This includes performing basic programming tasks such as uploading the code into the system to execute the correct cuts. The operator will receive a list of orders to complete each shift, review the paperwork and materials before completing orders, and locate the correct metals using equipment like chains, hooks, plate dogs, and magnets to safely place the metal on the table. Mechanical aptitude is necessary for setting up the torches and making changes depending on the order. Maintaining a clean environment by removing scraps and debris around the machine is also a key responsibility. Responsibilities: Load, set up, run, and make adjustments to ensure metal plates are cut to specifications. Perform basic programming by uploading code into the system for accurate cuts. Review paperwork and materials before completing each order. Locate correct metals and safely place them on tables using various equipment. Set up torches and make necessary changes for each order. Maintain a clean work environment by removing scraps and debris. Essential Skills: Mechanical aptitude and machine operating experience. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Experience with forklift operation. Minimum of 1 year of industrial machine operating experience. High school diploma or GED. Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with plasma, torch, laser, or similar table operations preferred. Experience in machining metal is a plus. Work Environment: The work environment is a large, open, new warehouse that is not climate controlled. Employees should be comfortable working overtime, with expected hours ranging from 50-60 per week due to large orders and current understaffing. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brandenburg, Kentucky. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.50/hr.
