You will serve as a DEFENSIVE CYBER OPERATIONS (DCO) ANALYST in the Command Information Office (CIO) of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Responsibilities include analyzing security related events to provide a threat-based security assessment and initiate cyber-incident responses as warranted. You will conduct audits of information technology (IT) system problem areas to formulate recommendations for corrective action. You will execute DCO activities to detect, deter, disrupt, and deny adversary activities. You will coordinate actions to resolve network security problems with the NAVFAC portfolio and other agencies as necessary. You will conduct on-site or remote diagnostic and troubleshooting on systems and data communications equipment and software relating to network and system security activity. Requirements include demonstrating at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: (1) Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. (2) Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. (4) Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must support at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Using data from sensors to spot intrusions and ensure sensors are placed properly for full system protection. Managing IT/OT systems, keeping incident records, and adding new data for detecting problems and inefficiencies. Verifying network configurations, running vulnerability scans, and using security tools to respond to threats quickly. Developing security policies and programs to protect hardware, software, and information for strong security. Explaining complex information clearly, both in written and verbal form, to senior leaders. Understanding how software, hardware, and networks work together, including LANs, WANs, and telecommunications.
