JT4 is hiring a Software Engineer II-III or Computer Scientist II-III for their Las Vegas, NV location. JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES The Software Engineer will primarily work within research and development engineering groups, responsible for a wide variety of tasks. The main focus will be designing and integrating software across multiple platforms, providing system instrumentation, radar control, data collection, and supporting application development. We seek developers who can work effectively in both theoretical and practical domains to create innovative solutions for various software challenges. These roles typically require abilities such as: Technical proficiency in embedded software, VxWorks, UI/UX design, .NET, Visual Studio, WPF, C#, Object-Oriented Design, Linux, QNX, Qt, C, Git, Subversion Understanding of Requirements Definition, Participatory Design, Usability Engineering, and Testing Familiarity with Visual Studio and .NET environments Proficiency with C# and Visual Studio on Windows and Linux The positions involve planning, research, design, development, testing, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of diverse software for electronic and mechanical systems. The Software Developer will perform design, development, analysis, or review tasks independently within established deadlines. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates with backgrounds in software engineering, computer engineering, or computer science are considered. The position can be filled at various levels: Engineer III : Bachelor's in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution + 4 years of related experience, or a Master's + 2 years, or a PhD in engineering. Must demonstrate mastery of engineering principles, serve as a technical authority, and apply latest engineering developments. Knowledge of computer systems and engineering tools, troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; US citizenship required. Engineer II : Bachelor's in engineering + 2 years of experience or Master's in engineering. Knowledge of engineering concepts, familiarity with test methods, computer systems, and engineering tools. Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to obtain security clearance; US citizenship. Computer Scientist III : Bachelor's in related discipline + 4 years of experience, or Master's + 2 years, or PhD in related discipline. Experience with computer systems, programming skills, hardware/software design, systems engineering, and communication skills. Must obtain security clearance; US citizenship required. Computer Scientist II : Bachelor's in related discipline + 2 years of experience or Master's. Experience with computer-based systems, programming, hardware/software design, systems lifecycle, communication skills, and ability to work under deadlines. Must obtain security clearance; US citizenship required. SALARY The expected salary range is $80,000 to $135,000 annually. Note: The offered salary reflects a good-faith estimate; actual compensation considers responsibilities, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market factors.
