Overview
The position functions as a subject matter expert for electrical systems and installations, supporting equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. It is responsible for both production and utility systems in a 24x7 manufacturing operation. The role includes equipment installations, corrective and preventive maintenance, support for troubleshooting, facility upgrades, and maintaining compliance with GMP and safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws
- Perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks
- Support equipment, utilities, and process troubleshooting and repair
- Execute planned maintenance and corrective work orders
- Assist with small projects including new equipment installation, equipment upgrades, facility modifications, and infrastructure improvements
- Support maintenance staff in resolving complex problems and developing technical solutions
- Update SOPs and prepare change control documentation
- Implement safe work practices and perform risk assessments such as job hazard analyses and failure fault trees
- Develop and maintain financial models for decision-making and strategic planning
- Conduct financial forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis
- Support cross-functional teams with operational improvements and automation strategies
- Optimize scheduling efficiencies for operations
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V and utilities like HVAC, boilers, water systems, chillers, air compressors, and cooling towers
- Must hold a valid electrician license
- Ability to lift 35 pounds
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems and automation technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with CMMS for tracking and scheduling maintenance
- GMP experience (pharma, biotech, medical devices, vitamins, packaging)
- PLC experience or certification
- Automation experience (1–3 years)
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Operational Excellence knowledge
- Experience with compliance documentation
- Project management experience
Certifications:
Electrician license is mandatory
PLC certification preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or Associate degree with 8 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment
