DEFINITION:
As a Safety Crossing Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety of children and managing vehicular traffic at designated crossing sites. Scope of Duties: Direct the actions of children at street intersections to ensure safe crossing. Record license plate numbers of vehicles ignoring traffic signals and report violations to law enforcement. Monitor vehicles and pedestrians around school crosswalks to report any suspicious activity. Notify supervisors of any uncooperative or disruptive children. Demonstrate consistent and predictable attendance, aiming for no more than two excused absences per year. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures. Report any unsafe conditions to the field supervisor immediately, or as soon as possible by the end of your shift. Commit to providing exceptional customer service to maintain a positive image and supportive environment within the community. SUPERVISION:
You will report directly to the Field Supervisor of Andy Frain Services and will not have any supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications and Requirements: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Familiarity with the local geography and locations of important community buildings. Strong observational skills to assess and report situations accurately. Capability to respond swiftly and calmly in emergencies. Good emotional intelligence and stability. Skill in tactful interaction with the public, particularly children. Must be at least 18 years of age. Physically fit to perform as a crossing guard in all weather conditions. Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to understand and create reports, and interact effectively. Completion of a mandatory School Crossing Guard training class is required. Required Tools and Equipment:
You will be provided with a Stop Paddle, Reflective Vest, Whistle, and may also use optional equipment such as a cell phone, rain gear, reflective gloves, reflective cap, first aid supplies, appropriate winter gear, and traffic cones.
