This job involves managing and maintaining databases, including performance tuning, installation, configuration, migration, backup, and recovery, primarily for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB. The role requires automating tasks, monitoring database space, and interacting with technical support. The position also involves working on cloud-based databases and implementing NoSQL deployments using CI/CD pipelines. Weekend and after-hours coverage may be required, along with annual BSA training. Mon - Fri: 8 AM - 5 PM (40 Hours) What You'll Do
Work closely with application developers to optimize SQL and indexes. Create and drop databases, tables, indexes, constraints, and triggers. Perform installation and configuration of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB on Cloud. Manage database creation and migration both in Cloud and on-premises. Implement NoSQL databases and deployments using CI/CD pipelines. Maintain databases daily: backups, monitoring, capacity management. Create and maintain database backup and recovery plans. Adjust server configurations for optimal performance. Monitor database space and expand as needed. Collaborate with technical support to resolve issues. Automate manual DBMS tasks through scripting and tools. Perform other duties as assigned, including after-hours support. Complete annual BSA training and stay updated on policies. Assist other areas as needed, as directed by the I/S Manager. What You'll Need
4-year degree or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of database administration experience. Experience with infrastructure as code and open-source data warehouses in AWS/Azure. At least 2 years of experience with information/business systems. Strong communication skills. What We Do
