This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies (HII-MT) Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII-MT. The Skillbridge intern will train as an Information Warfare and Cryptologic Warfare Mission Technician with HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to HII Supervisor Kevin Foster, Program Manager, with the goal of learning FURY Systems Operations and Maintenance principles, technologies, and core device functions, as well as the roles and responsibilities of working in a federated FURY system environment. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed. Training Location: Virginia Beach, VA Desired End State (3-4 month target): At the end of three months, the intern will be able to operate both fixed site and Mobile FURY systems, conduct maintenance, and coordinate and execute FURY EMW/IW training missions to Fleet consumers. The intern will develop an understanding of FURY technical documentation and project management. Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the Skillbridge intern and considers the Skillbridge internship an overall positive experience. Assumptions/Restrictions: Skillbridge Intern will possess at minimum an Active Secret Security Clearance. Skillbridge Intern will be available during core hours for critical meetings and training. Training Plan: Phase 1 - Basics Week 1: In processing, Introductions/office familiarization Week 2: Intro to World-Wide FURY Week 3: Intro to the World-Wide FURY Watch-center Week 4: Intro to Mobile FURY Week 5: Intro to FURY Training Support Vessels (TSVs) Phase 2 - FURY Watch Center Operation Week 6: FURY Mission management Week 7: FURY Payload development Week 8: FURY Special Signals Week 9: FURY Mission execution Phase 3 - Mobile FURY, TSV FURY, Watch-standing, Troubleshooting & Maintenance, Administration Week 10: Mobile FURY Operations Week 11: TSV FURY Operations Week 12: FURY VROC Watch-standing Week 13: WWF Troubleshooting Week 14: WWF Maintenance Week 15: WWF Applications and Administration Week 16: WWF Applications and Administration Additional Goals: Introduction to a Data Center Environment Introduction to a Network Operation Center (NOC) Environment IP Address Management Development of Technical Documentation for Systems Operations and Engineering Project Management Minimum Qualifications
Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction. Must have a current/active DoD Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Requirements
Active-duty military experience supporting Information Warfare & Cryptologic Warfare operations in a Network Operations Center or Data Enterprise Center environments for the DoD. Physical Requirements
