The School of American Ballet is the official training academy of the New York City Ballet. The New York City Ballet is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tessitura Database Administrator. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this critical position will be responsible for the organization’s Tessitura CRM system; ensuring the database supports NYCB’s strategic goals in ticketing, fundraising, marketing, and customer engagement. Key Responsibilities: Support and manage Tessitura database integration, maintenance, and reporting needs. Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (primarily SQL Server). Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security in database infrastructure. Write and optimize advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, supporting various departmental needs. Monitor database performance and implement changes for optimization and tuning. Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to support application development and deployment. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of professional experience as a DBA or in a related role. Proven experience in database management, with advanced expertise in Tessitura. Deep expertise in SQL (T-SQL, or ANSI SQL). Proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization. Strong understanding of database security and encryption practices. Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery planning.
