Operations Research solutions . We support the design, planning, and execution of last mile transportation for various Amazon parcel and grocery delivery programs. This involves a variety of decision support systems for demand planning, jurisdiction planning, delivery channel and network design, and route optimization. We're seeking talented candidates experienced in designing and developing
cutting-edge AI solutions , including advanced deep learning algorithms, foundational models, and reinforcement learning techniques. If you're passionate about scaling and optimizing these models and creating real-world solutions to meet customer needs, we want you on our team. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the development of foundational AI solutions for various decision support use cases in Last Mile. Develop and implement new machine learning techniques for optimizing model training and inference. Build scalable science and engineering solutions to support Last Mile planning and operations. Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to shape both strategic and tactical visions, contributing hands-on to foundational research efforts. A Day in the Life: Embedded in Amazon's Last Mile business, Routing and Planning (RaP) focuses on developing innovative solutions that fulfill our vision: creating optimal logistics plans for Last Mile delivery. We serve a diverse set of customers and work on solutions that account for both external end customers and internal operations, handling impactful projects across multiple Amazon business segments that have a significant financial footprint. If you are motivated by the opportunity to innovate and create groundbreaking solutions while collaborating with skilled engineers and scientists, this role offers a unique chance to build a new delivery foundational model utilizing industry-scale data. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of experience coding in at least one programming language 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture for systems Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive culture. Compensation for this position ranges from $151,300/year in lower-cost markets up to $261,500/year in higher-cost markets, with total compensation including equity and benefits.
