Citi . This position is for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You will leverage your technical expertise to develop high-quality software products, share your knowledge, and promote technical excellence within the team. As part of a team led by a Team Lead, you will contribute to delivering solutions within sprint cycles. Responsibilities
Contribute code as a member of an Agile team to meet sprint goals. Demonstrate expertise in software development, including programming languages, frameworks, and best practices. Implement features and technical solutions, writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Collaborate on system architecture and design with other engineers. Provide guidance on scalable and robust solutions aligned with business needs. Support multiple teams with technical advice, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovations. Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with PySpark, Hive HQL, and Data Warehousing. At least 5 years of implementing data solutions using agile methodologies. Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala. 10+ years of software engineering experience with best practices. Experience with Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud-native development, including container orchestration tools. Familiarity with open-source data engineering tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, etc. Knowledge of data formats such as Iceberg, Hive, Avro, Parquet, JSON. Experience designing scalable, high-availability applications. Strong SQL skills and understanding of data structures and object-oriented principles. Experience in data modeling for analytics. Ability to automate data pipelines and provide technical leadership. Experience in the banking and finance industry, particularly in Anti-Money Laundering. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Data Transformation tools like Ab Initio. Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud) and Infrastructure as Code tools. Experience influencing data strategies within organizations. Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Electronics and Telecommunication, or Computer Science. Additional Details
