Senior Data Scientist

Senior Data Scientist.
This role will contribute to the effective management of Axcelis' operations, design and gross margin improvement at our semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility in
Beverly Massachusetts
and other global sights.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will take on a leadership role in developing technological roadmaps and leading cross-functional, long-term data projects for Supply Chain, New Product Introduction, Value Engineering and Gross Margin. You will be a team manager, providing leadership, coaching, and managerial processes that utilize Axcelis' values to drive optimal performance. You will design, develop, and program methods to consolidate and analyze big data sources, mentor junior team members, and communicate insights and findings to business managers.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement a roadmap for technological development. Translate business requirements into a technical plan including database requirements, algorithms and dashboard design Lead cross-functional long-term projects in Power BI, R and Python. Proactively seek new knowledge and stay updated with the latest industry trends. Exhibit resilience and determination in all tasks and projects. Mentor junior team members and share lessons learned. Travel for conferences or training as required. Design, develop, and program methods to consolidate and analyze big data sources. Interact with cross functional teams to identify data analysis questions and issues. Develop software, algorithms, dashboards and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets. Interpret and communicate insights and findings from data analysis to various stakeholders. Provide leadership, coaching, and managerial processes to drive optimal performance of the team. Qualifications
:
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Science, or other quantitative field. 5+ years experience in data science and proven leadership in cross-functional projects. Extensive experience using Power BI, R and Python. Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to develop technological roadmaps. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Experience in mentoring and leading teams. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English sufficiently well to perform job functions. Nice to Have:
Semiconductor or manufacturing experience in any capacity. Work knowledge of software engineering practices (Agile, Kanban, and so on). Experience with implementing data science collaboration techniques, such as version control software, data pipeline solutions such as Snowflake, deployment software and cloud platforms like Azure.
