Southern Oregon Education Service District is seeking a System Analyst II to join our technology team that provides services to SOESD and the districts and organizations we serve. The succesful candidate for this position will work with the team to provide support for servers, storage, data centers, cloud services, directory services, networks, other technology, and associated information services, to support teaching and learning. Systems Analyst II:
Position Goal: Provide support for servers, storage, data centers, cloud services, directory services, networks, other technology, and associated information services, to support teaching and learning. The emphasis of this position is systems management, although duties may include network support, programming, and database management.
Responsibility: Performs duties with moderate supervision. Work involves analysis of technicalrequirements and application of agency policies and procedures. Work is characterized by moderately independent decision-making within established guidelines to reach stated objectives.
Essential Functions: 1. Perform all functions of System Analyst I. * 2. Install, manage, and support servers, networks, collaboration systems, network management, and information services, including: virtual infrastructure and storage systems; directory, mail, file, and web servers; VoIP; cloud services such as LMS and VLE; and student information systems. 3. Install, manage, and support computer imaging, software deployment, mobile device, and other management solutions. 4. Install, maintain, and support backup systems, data center redundancy, and disaster recovery systems. 5. Install, maintain, and support directory service solutions, including single sign-on. 6. Provide consultations with service area clients. 7. Install and manage directory services solutions, including single sign-on. 8. Gather and interpret stakeholder input to determine project priorities. 9. Develop innovative solutions to meet stated needs. 10. While working collaboratively with others, make independent decisions within established policies and procedures. 11. Provide support for Systems Analyst I. 12. Other duties as assigned.
* Duties of System Analyst I include: 1. Assist with installation, management, and support of servers, networks, collaboration systems, network management and information services including: virtual infrastructure and storage systems; directory, mail, file, and web servers; VoIP; cloud services such as LMS and VLE; and student information systems. 2. Assist with the installation, maintenance and support of computer imaging, software deployment, mobile device and other management solutions. 3. Perform backups and restorations of data, and assist with installation, maintenance and support for backup systems, data center redundancy, and disaster recovery systems. 4. Assist with installation, maintenance, and support of directory service solutions, including single sign on. 5. Assist with research, planning, evaluation, recommendation, design and implementation of solutions that align with the vision of the department and mission of the agency, including: servers, networks, collaboration and information services; virtual infrastructure, and storage systems; directory, mail, file, and web servers; VoIP; cloud services such as LMS and VLE; and student information systems; disaster recovery systems; and planning for network and data center continuity. 6. Assist with support of networks and network technologies. 7. Assist with consultations with service area clients. 8. Assist with gathering and interpreting stakeholder input to determine project priorities. 9. Assist with maintaining, implementing, and monitoring regional services to ensure availability, integrity, and protect against intrusion 10. Install, maintain and support end user hardware and software, including: computers, mobile devices, peripherals. 11. Assist staff in effective use of software, hardware and information services. 12. Maintain inventory of hardware, peripherals, and software licenses. 13. Assist with programming and database maintenance. 14. Provide impeccable customer service. 15. Use professional communication and conduct. 16. Participate collaboratively as an effective team member within and between departments and other organizations. 17. Establish and maintain high trust regional relationships. 18. Comply with local district and ESD rules, policies and procedures. 19. Participate in professional growth activities. 20. Perform physical requirements unaided or with assistance of some reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Prerequisites: 1. All requirements of Systems Analyst I. * 2. Industry certification, such as from Microsoft or VMware. 3. Associate degree in Computer Science or applicable field. 4. Performance at the level of Systems Analyst I for at least one year. 5. Demonstrated capabilities of System Analyst II.
Minimum prerequisites of Systems Analyst I include: 1. A+ and Network + Certification. 2. High School diploma or equivalent. 3. Valid Oregon Driver License. 4. Professional communication & conduct and maintenance of high trust relationships. 5. Experience installing and maintaining computers, servers, and data systems.
An equivalent combination of experience, training, certification, education or degree that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be used as an alternative to prerequisites.

In person assigned to the Grape Street Office: 101 N. Grape Street, Medford, OR 97501 with support provided in buildings across service region. Length of Position:
.5 FTE (half time) during258 days (annual year-round position) Salary:
