District Attorney’s (DA’s) Office , an enriching work environment where legal expertise, strategic thinking, and effective advocacy are paramount. This Attorney will prosecute primarily felony cases, including violent offenses. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in criminal law, including proficiency in jury trial proceedings. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a positive legal team as a motivated self-starter, utilizing strong skills in legal research, court procedures, and oral advocacy to serve the County and community. The level of this role is determined by the candidate’s experience in criminal law. The

levels involve more complex and sensitive cases, often including homicides. Both levels provide opportunities to make a significant impact in the community, with responsibilities that reflect their experience. This Attorney will handle complex criminal cases from start to finish, including legal research, evidence evaluation, plea negotiations, and trial litigation. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of criminal law, trial procedures, and rules of evidence, staying current with judicial decisions relevant to their cases. They will analyze complex evidence, including digital footage from body-worn and vehicle cameras, and evidence and call logs from computers and cellular phones. They will make independent case strategy decisions, drawing on their knowledge of case law and critical thinking skills. While both levels will prosecute serious felonies, the Attorney II/III will focus on the most complex cases, such as homicides. Be comfortable working independently, managing a dynamic workload, and collaborating with colleagues and support staff. Be adaptable and capable of shifting priorities as needed. Active membership with good standing in the State Bar of California. Experience:
