Duties NOTE: This position is designated as SES General and may be filled by either a Career or Noncareer Senior Executive Service member. This position is located in the Office of the Director, EOIR, U.S. Department of Justice in Falls Church, Virginia. As Deputy Director, the incumbent serves as the Deputy Director for the agency, with full delegated authority to manage all aspects of EOIR operations. Responsibilities include supervising the Chairman of the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the Chief of the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge (OCIJ), the Chief of the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer (OCAHO), and all agency personnel. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements: Be a United States Citizen or National. Veterans' preference is not applicable to the Senior Executive Service. Register with Selective Service if required, or have an approved exemption. Complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check. Undergo a drug screening with favorable results prior to appointment. Possess a one-year probationary period upon appointment. Submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) upon entry and annually thereafter. Meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date. Provide ECQs certified by an OPM Qualifications Review Board if applicable.
