Location
This position is based out of our Manhattan, NY or Woodcliff Lake, NJ office, and requires some amount of travel based on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead large, diverse, multidisciplinary project teams during the pursuit and final design of projects.
- Serve as the overall leader to the design team and providing oversight to support groups.
- Develop staffing plans and challenging but achievable design budgets and schedules, set expectations, and execute according to plan.
- Identify and communicate project risks / opportunities and prepare and execute mitigation plans.
- Review and manage upstream and downstream engineering contracts.
- Prepare subconsultants scope, pricing and other necessary design execution stipulations. Monitor performance of subconsultants work.
- Represent Kiewit’s design team and develop effective relationships with the construction and client teams.
- Monitor, control and communicate schedule, quality, financial, and commercial performance.
- Monitor design progress, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction management or architecture
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Architect Registration is required
- A minimum of 15 years of experience with at least six (6) of these years in the project manager / design manager position, with emphasis on multi-disciplinary design-build and/or progressive design-build heavy civil, bridge, transportation, rail / transit projects with construction values of at least $200 million.
- Strong technical background in at least one of the disciplines common to infrastructure projects
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to work ethics and integrity, and to treating others with respect

Other Requirements:

Base Compensation: $195,000/yr -$230,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
