Job Summary
:
System Physical Architect is a key position within the project engineering team, with immediate focus on supporting System layout and design, and supporting the development and implementation of modeling and design processes to support on-going capture and project execution efforts.
We are looking for a Physical Architecture / Design Integration II to work for our Sterling Heights, MI office. Requirements
Essential Functions
: Apply working knowledge of CAD systems and/or visualization tools to develop overall vehicle architecture in coordination with the engineering staff and project technical authority. Assist product development by supporting large CAD model management, vehicle subsystem packaging, development gate review, and body of evidence generation. Participate in system level trade studies and analysis to determine a balanced system design. Support the development of subsystem and component Statement of Work (SOW), Critical Item Development Specification (CIDS), Interface Control Document (ICD), and supplier Request of Proposal (RFP) artifacts. Support the maintenance of the Bill of Materials and Product Structure. Manage space allocations between subsystems and components. Assist and support the coordination of design staff in support of technical architecture solutions. Provide design/integration guidance to designers. Support the implementation of design standards/guides, best practices, to ensure designs are consistent, repeatable, and efficient across the business. Support and adhere to all company safety and environmental regulations & policies. Undertake other duties as determined by the Engineering Director, the Lead Physical Architect, or his/her delegate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)
Knowledge of Systems based design and related Standards/Processes Ability to present technical solutions to clients and internal stakeholders Familiarity with the US DoD ground vehicle requirements and technical design standards Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and acquisition Familiarity with the US Army TACOM / TARDEC organizations Practical 'hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independently. Currently hold or have ability to apply for a SECRET US Defense clearance Must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to establish productive relationships. Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required. Must possess the ability to explain complex concepts in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic. Must demonstrate an enthusiasm to engage with and support overseas colleagues to ensure all staff have the information and opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities. Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers. Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others. BSME, BSMET, or equivalent preferred AS Product Design or equivalent minimum Experience:
7-12 or more years' experience in product design and development, preferably US Defense programs Experience with CAD (i.e. CREO and VisMockup) software and 3D Printing, as well as general Material (e.g. Steel, Aluminum, Ceramic) properties. Experience of working in a multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment. Experience with engineering and supply chain management in a highly regulated industry. Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing. All employment at ARV is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if the position requires it. Preferred Qualifications:
Master Degree in System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Pay Range:
$102,000 - $117,000 per year
