Summary:
The Capture and Business Development Manager will be primarily responsible for identifying, capturing, and developing new business opportunities with a significant focus on capture management in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in business development, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of securing contracts and driving growth within the DHS sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and industry trends, with a particular focus on DHS requirements and initiatives.
- Develop a deep understanding of DHS customer needs and market dynamics.
- Identify potential DHS clients and develop strategies to engage them.
- Capture Management:
- Lead the capture process for our current pipeline and new business opportunities from identification to proposal submission, with a primary emphasis on DHS contracts.
- Develop capture plans, win strategies, and competitive analysis tailored to DHS opportunities.
- Coordinate and manage proposal development, including writing, editing, and submission.
- Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key DHS clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Attend DHS industry events, conferences, and meetings to network and promote the company.
- Collaborate with internal teams to leverage existing relationships and resources within the DHS sector.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve company growth targets, specifically within the DHS market.
- Analyze and assess the competitive landscape and market conditions related to DHS.
- Provide regular updates and reports on business development activities and results to senior management, with an emphasis on DHS opportunities.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior business development staff, with a focus on DHS capture processes.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Ensure alignment of business development efforts with overall company goals, particularly in relation to DHS support.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development, capture management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of securing contracts and driving business growth, particularly within the DHS sector.
- Experience in DHS environments is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
