Job Description Contoro is seeking a strategic and execution-focused
Director of Business Operations and Strategy . (Currently Director is the highest title after CEO in Contoro) This role will be instrumental in shaping the financial and operational backbone of the company during our high-growth phase. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep experience in startup operations and venture fundraising. Key Responsibilities Operations & Execution
Oversee key operational processes to ensure alignment between strategic priorities, financial plans, and execution.
Partner with engineering, product, and deployment teams to align financial realities with roadmap execution.
Improve internal workflows and reporting systems to boost efficiency and accountability.
Assist the CEO in daily company operations and long-term planning.
Fundraising & Investor Relations
Own the investor relationship management and manage outreach and follow-ups with existing and potential investors.
Join CEO in fundraising meetings and support with follow-up communications.
Prepare and organize due diligence materials for financing rounds.
Commercial & Strategic Execution
Lead or support negotiations with partners and customers.
Draft and review commercial contracts with an eye for long-term financial sustainability.
Design pricing strategies and revenue models for enterprise deployments.
Qualifications Must be able to work on-site in Austin, TX office.
5+ years of experience either as a startup operator or venture investor.
Direct involvement in at 2+ startup funding rounds.
Proven engagement with 50+ investors.
Deep understanding of startup financing instruments (SAFEs, convertible notes, preferred equity, etc.) and cap table management.
Strong grasp of financial statements and accounting principles.
Ability to build and present financial models from scratch, including revenue forecasts, burn rate, runway analysis, and investor reporting.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the company in high-stakes external meetings.
High integrity, reliability, and a hands-on, get-things-done mindset.
Preferred Qualifications Experience as a founder, finance lead, or early employee at a venture-backed startup.
Prior experience in hardware, robotics, logistics, or deep-tech industries.
MBA or equivalent experience in finance, strategy, or operations.
