TEAM LEAD (Project Manager Senior or General Planner Senior)
We are seeking experienced and mission-driven Team Leads to support FEMA's Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office. This role will be critical in overseeing claims review teams, ensuring compliance with FEMA regulations, and driving efficient project delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a deep understanding of disaster recovery operations, and the ability to manage teams under pressure.
About The Project
This project supports FEMA's Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office, which was established to administer compensation for individuals and businesses impacted by the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon Fires in New Mexico. The program ensures claims are reviewed accurately, fairly, and in compliance with federal law. Positions on this project support technical reviews, legal coordination, field inspections, and administrative processing.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams of claims reviewers, administrative staff, and technical specialists
- Establish workflows, set priorities, and track deliverables to ensure high-quality and timely claims processing
- Act as primary liaison between the field team and FEMA leadership, providing regular updates and addressing escalations
- Provide oversight on performance metrics, ensuring accountability and team efficiency
- Mentor and support team members to promote continuous improvement and operational consistency
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in program/project management or planning, including team supervision
- Familiarity with FEMA, disaster recovery, insurance claims, or government contract work
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and project management tools
