Prophet 21 IT Director/Specialist
Are you a Prophet 21 expert ready to make a major impact? We’re seeking a highly skilled ERP Specialist with deep experience in Epicor's Prophet 21 to join a tight-knit, tech-savvy team supporting a leading organization in the distribution/manufacturing space. This is a high-visibility role with significant ownership, and the opportunity to shape how the business operates moving forward.
Our client has built a strong foundation over decades and is now entering a phase of modernization and optimization. You’ll be stepping into a key role that directly supports business-critical functions, with access to tribal knowledge from a long-tenured predecessor and a leadership team that values ERP as the backbone of operational success.

hands-on
role with influence across departments, from finance and inventory to purchasing and logistics. If you're passionate about ERP systems, data integrity, and business process improvement, this is a rare opportunity to lead change and drive value.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Act as the internal
subject matter expert
for Prophet 21 (P21) across all departments.
Lead
configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting
of key modules (order-to-cash, inventory, purchasing, warehouse, finance).
Collaborate with department leaders to
translate business needs into P21 workflows, automations, or customizations .
Own
reporting, dashboards, and analytics , leveraging SQL and internal P21 tools.
Manage
system upgrades, patches, integrations , and support daily user operations.
Provide
training and documentation , ensuring end users and leadership can confidently leverage the system.
Maintain
data integrity, system security, and access controls .
Partner with the new Controller and broader team to support
financial operations and accounting best practices .
What We’re Looking For:
Deep expertise in Prophet 21 ERP , front-end and back-end, daily operations, and technical troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of
order processing, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, and supply chain workflows .
Experience supporting or working alongside
finance and accounting teams .
Proven ability to work with
SQL Server , build reports, and manage data exports.
Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset, you see issues before others do.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with
ERP integrations , custom workflows, and third-party systems.
Background in
logistics or distribution-based businesses .
Project management or team leadership experience.
Knowledge of
accounting principles
and cycle counting processes.
