Job Description Job Description Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Annual Giving Associate to join our advancement team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. We are searching for a dynamic individual who works collaboratively with the Associate Vice President for Advancement identifying, soliciting and stewarding donors to the College. This fundraising position is focused on donor participation and the growth of first-time donors. This role is responsible for managing a prospect portfolio and cultivating relationships that lead to philanthropic support. The Annual Giving Associate will be skilled in cultivating relationships that lead to more meaningful engagement and participation in the annual giving program as well as skilled in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize and organize work while meeting multiple deadlines. The advancement team is led by award-winning and seasoned professionals who have built a collaborative environment to foster innovation and growth. Professional growth is encouraged through involvement with Higher Education industry organizations, such as CASE and the Forum of Florida Alumni Associations. Key Responsibilities Proactively and strategically manage a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects, maintaining a personal visit and solicitation goal of 3-5 face-to-face visits/solicitations per week, 130-150 visits annually to generate a high level of activity and prospect contact; record all activity in contact reports. Execute strategies related to the solicitation, engagement and stewardship of individuals who qualify for the Contemporary President's Collegium level which recognizes graduates of the last decade who make gifts of $500 or more. There is a strong emphasis on donor retention and growth of this program. Promote and track employer matching gift opportunities by proactively identifying eligible donors and guiding them through the matching process. Execute strategies related to the solicitation, engagement and stewardship of affinity groups. Collaborate with campus partners involved with the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC), Athletics, Student Affairs, the Waterfront and other key constituents of the College, on the annual plan for maximizing annual gifts to said areas. Collaborate with colleagues to influence the timely acknowledgement of donors through personalized communications and events. Represent Eckerd College at public functions and community and campus events. Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of related experience in educational fundraising or comparable field. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Excellent skills in oral and written communication and ability to form meaningful relationships with a broad audience Ability to travel and perform work outside normal business hours as needed.
