BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS COORDINATOR The City of Stanwood, WA is seeking a
Business and Community Relations Coordinator to join its Community Development team. Stanwood is the town center serving a diverse rural, suburban and urban population of 34,000 people spread across two counties in what is generally identified as “Greater Stanwood-Camano.” Stanwood’s residential population totals 9,828, and is one of the fastest growing communities in Snohomish County. Many residents outside the City come into Stanwood for business, community events and recreation. The City is focused on preserving its role as the hub of the region through business-friendly initiatives, community engagement, and vibrant arts and culture programs. The area is rich in scenic beauty and community pride. THE POSITION Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the Business and Community Relations Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the City and the local business community. This position supports a thriving business environment through direct outreach, permitting assistance, and coordination of community events and economic development initiatives. It also administers public art and storefront improvement programs and provides support to the Economic Development Board, Historic Society, and the Stanwood Camano Arts Advocacy Commission. The ideal candidate will: Be a skilled relationship-builder with experience in economic development, permitting processes, and public engagement. Possess strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and community partnerships. Be comfortable representing the City at public events, business forums, and trade shows. Have knowledge of business licensing, demographic analysis, and municipal processes. Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a passion for serving the community. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The annual range is $94,632 – $106,512. Placement within the range will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. An excellent benefits package provides medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, life, and long-term disability insurance. Paid Time Off starting at 21 days per year. Eleven paid holidays per year. Employee Assistance Program. Washington State Public Employees Retirement System, and Deferred Compensation Retirement Plans, with a City contribution.
